PURPOSE:To select a time up to the time-out of characters, codes and patterns displayed on a screen in accordance with user's convenience by making it possible to select the above mentioned time. CONSTITUTION:An image apparatus 1 such as a televisions receiver and a satellite broadcasting receiver is provided with a control part 11 consisting of a microcomputer for outputting various control commands to the whole system, a photoamplifier 12 for applying an operation command from a remote control transmitter 2 to the control part 11, an on-screen circuit 13 for inputting an on-screen signal from the control part 11 and an original video signal and executing the on-screen processing of these input signals, and so on. The remote control transmitter 2 is provided with a display time switching key 21 for switching the time required from the display start of the on-screen up to its end in addition to a normal key, and when the key 21 is depressed, the display time of the on-screen can be switched to the normal time or the shorter time. Since longer time display can be given to less experienced person and shorter time display can be available to an experienced person, the operability of the device can be improved. |
