<p>A motor vehicle control system and a control unit (1) therefor is described, the control unit (1) being arranged to calculate a control parameter based upon data derived from a sensor output (5, 6, 9) and to drive at least one actuator (7, 8, 10) in accordance with the calculated parameter. The control unit (1) is adapted to communicate with a plurality of other control units (2, 3, 4) and each of the control units comprises a transmitting means adapted to transmit interrogation signals to other control units and a receiving means adapted to receive response signals from the other control units in response to the interrogation signals. A microcomputer is provided adapted to vary the control parameter of each of the control units in dependence upon the existence of responses received by the receiving means of each control unit.</p> |
