The continuous strip of printed paper is dried by passing it through a hot air heater. This method of drying the ink also reduces the water content of the paper and makes the paper brittle, so that difficulties arise in the paper folding machine. The decisive condition for drying the ink is the temp. difference between the air and the paper. The relative humidity of the air has no effect on the drying of the ink. To overcome the drying out of the paper involves injection of fine droplets of water into the drying chamber. Alternatively, saturated steam may be injected. USE - Printing industry.
