The window swings about a horizontal axis (6) which is positioned at the mid point of the window height. The window can thus be swung through 180 deg. in order to clean the outside surface. The hinge (3) consists of a part (4) attached to the moving part (2) and of a part (5) which is attached to the fixed frame (1). The two parts of the hinge are connected by a conical bolt (8). In order to fit the hinge into a range of windows of different sizes, the hinge lugs are mounted in a housing consisting of two parts (10, 11) which can be designed to fit any size of window or window frame.
