PURPOSE:To realize steering stability and comfortable ride by judging the direction of action of attenuation force based on the comparison of codes of speed on top of a spring and relative speed between the top of the spring and the bottom of the spring, judging the direction of stroke based on the code of relative speed at that time, and controlling either of the elongation side and the pressure side to high attenuation force and the other to low attenuation force in accordance with the result of judgement. CONSTITUTION:Speed on the top of a spring which is measured by a speed measuring means 2 on the top of the spring, relative speed between the top and the bottom of the spring which is measured by a relative speed measuring means 3, and the result of judgement of agreement or disagreement between codes of speed on the top of the spring and codes of relative speed in a code judging means 4 are input in a control signal output means 5. When codes of speed on the top of the spring agrees with codes of relative speed and relative speed is positive, it judges that attenuation force of a shock absorber acts in the direction of vibration regulation and is on the elongation side stroke and that the elongation side is a high attenuation force characteristic and the pressure side is a low attenuation force characteristic. |
