An adhesive, method for preparing the same, and apparatus for applying the same are disclosed. The adhesive is adapted to attach two substrates together in such a manner that the substrates are firmly fixed to each other in normal use, but may be released from each other when so desired. The adhesive comprises commercially available latex based adhesive, water, cornstarch and water soluble oil fixed together in such proportions as to result in a releasable adhesive. The apparatus for applying the adhesive comprises a reservoir for holding the liquid adhesive, which reservoir is connected to the applicator in a suitable manner to allow the adhesive to be delivered from the reservoir to the applicator under pressure. The apparatus is adapted for applying the adhesive to a substrate in such a manner that the adhesive has a beaded appearance. 19
