PURPOSE:To obtain the supercharge effect having high efficiency over all operation regions by relatively reducing the capacity of a supercharger on the system side on which the passage resistance is large, in the constitution in which the intake/exhaust system of an engine is divided into two systems and a turbosupercharger is installed in each system. CONSTITUTION:The intake port 7 of each cylinder 6 on the left and right banks 1a and 1b of a V-type six-cylinder engine 1 is connected with an intercooler 11 through a pair of surge tank and convergence passage through each independent intake passage 9. The first and second intake passages 12a and 12b in which the blowers 24 of first and second superchargers 22a and 22b are interposed are connected with the intercooler 11. While, the exhaust port 7 of each cylinder 6 is connected with the first and second exhaust passages 18a and 18b into which a turbine 23 is interposed, through an independent exhaust passage 17. The capacity of the supercharger 22a on the intake/exhaust system side having a large passage length and large passage resistance is reduced in comparison with the capacity of the supercharger 22b on the intake/exhaust system side having a small passage length and small passage resistance. |
