PURPOSE: To obtain an accurate program by composing a time detector of a unit to detect four consecutive numeral shape characters and a unit to detect four consecutive shapes other than numerals in teletext information. CONSTITUTION: Teletext information is sent from an input terminal 1 to a date detector 2 and a time detector 3, and the date detected by the detector 2 and the time detected by the detector 3 are sent to a memory 8. The detector 3 is composed of a time information detecting unit to detect time information from consecutive four numeric shape characters in the information and a character recognition unit to detect time information in consecutive four shapes other than numerals. When the character recognition unit does not detect the time information in the consecutive shapes other than numerals, the unit accepts the consecutive-four numerals as the time information. As a result, a recorder can accurately be programmed.
