A fracturing fluid slurry concentrate comprising a hydrophobic solvent base (e.g., diesel no. 2), a suspension agent (e.g., organophilic clay), a surfactant (e.g., ethyoxylated nonyl phenol), and hydratable polymer (e.g., hydroxypropyl guar). Such a polymer slurry concentrate when admixed with water at the proper pH, will readily disperse and hydrate, thus producing a high viscosity fracturing fluid. The fracturing fluid slurry concentrate and method are useful in producing large volumes of high viscosity treating fluids at the well site on a continuous basis. |
