A welders shield, held on the head by adjustable top and rear straps, has a wrap-round main protective plate (4), of transparent glass or plastic. In front of or behind this plate is a tinted screen (6) in a rubber or plastic frame (8) removably attached by screws (14) to a frontal head band (1). The screen is shorter than the main plate, and of width not less than the welder's eye-spacing. ADVANTAGE - While providing protection from flying sparks enables welder to look directly at work while having both hands free.
