This invention provides versatile, portable apparatus for molding hollow, plastic-walled articles of various types, the apparatus having controlled, programmable means for distributing raw plastic in a mold by rotating and rocking the mold about two different axes. Means for heating the mold are provided which can be adjusted and programmed to produce zones of different temperature, leading to corresponding variations of wall thickness in the molded article. The apparatus can be employed in a method to produce plastic vessels having through-wall fittings, strengthened by a thicker wall in the vicinity of the fitting.
