Coating powder materials with diamond - using chemical vapour deposition process in which powder is vibrated at certain intervals on a base to ensure complete coating

Powder material having a hardness of above 1000 HV is coated with a layer of diamond using a chemical vapour deposition process in which a mixt. of H2 and C-contg. gas in the form of a gas or vapour is placed in contact with the powder which is vibrated from time to time to ensure that the particles m over and are subjected to total coverage. The vibrating stage is carried out at intervals for a time, which is a fraction (less than 1/100) of the time intervals. Pref. for less than 30 secs USE/ADVANTAGE - Producing cutting tools and integrated circuits. The vibrational movement ensures that the particles are completely coated without interferring with the CVD process.
