Hand-held fine engraving tool - variable amplitude EM drive in double housing of plastics material

The engraving tool is mounted in a compact housing gripped in the palm of the hand and operated by a pistol grip switch (319) by the middle finger. The forefinger lies along the tool holder for guidance. The amplitude of the solenoid oscillations are adjusted by a thumbwheel control. The oscillating pole piece (326) is moved nearer to the main magnet by a stepped cam to reduce the oscillations. The different tools are secured by a simple threaded coupling jaw.
