PURPOSE:To widen the service range of a power supply and embody the lighting device concerned in simple and small construction by connecting a series circuitry of ballast capacitor and full wave rectifier to the secondary side of an oscillator transformer, which is a constituent of a high frequency inverter circuit, and connecting a small-sized light emission lamp with this full wave rectifier. CONSTITUTION:A high frequency inverter circuit is furnished on the primary side of a transformer 6, and the high frequency voltage generated by this high frequency inverter is boosted or sunk by this transformer 6 to an appropriate voltage. To the secondary side of this transformer 6 a point between one side of the cathode 9b of a small-sized light emission lamp 9 and its anode 9a is connected through a ballast capacitor 7 and a full wave rectifier 8, and the heater for said cathode 9b is used unheated. This provides a wide service range of supply voltage, less power loss at the ballast because of using ballast capacitor 7 at high frequency, small configuration incl. transformer 6. Further because the heater for cathode 9b remains unheated, the input pin of the lamp 9 manages with two terminals, which together with unnecessity for any preheating circuit should simplify both the lamp 9 and the circuit. |
