PURPOSE:To increase a capillary force to improve the creeping of a sealant to a front-surface seal and thereabouts by a method wherein an adhesive tape is divided into two parts by forming a slit on the center thereof, and each of the adhesive tapes is tapered or shaped into a fore that the cross sectional area is gradually reduced to its end. CONSTITUTION:An adhesive tape 4 attached on the surfaces of a base plate 3 and an ink supply member 5 conducts the application of a front-surface seal 6 as well as the forming of a flow path of a sealant 7. Thus, the adhesive tape 4 is attached so as to be spaced a distance from the top surface of the base plate 3. Where the width of a slit at the center is 0.6mm and a distance from the top surface of the base plate 3 to the adhesive tape 4 is 0.6mm at a minimum and 0.8mm at a maximum, the sealant 7 is sufficiently creeped. These numeric values are varied depending on the specification of a recording head. The respective values can be determined so as to ensure an improved creeping of a sealant and a sufficient adhesion of the base plate with the front- surface seal.
