TOOL FOR DIVIDING OPTICAL FIBER OF MULTIFIBER RIBBON

PURPOSE:To easily separate optical fibers without any damage by clamping the optical fibers with two arcuate pressure cutting parts, moving the pressure cutting parts relatively, and flawing and stripping the jacket. CONSTITUTION:The dividing tool consists of a tool main body 10 and a front lid body 11 which can be opened and closed and the tool main body 10 is provided with the pressure cutting member 12a consisting of an upper arcuate pressure cutting part 13a and a lower pressure cutting part 14a. Further, the front lid part 11 is provided with the pressure cutting member 12b consisting of a pressure cutting part 13b and a pressure part 14b. Those two pressure cutting members 12a and 12b are installed on the cut surface of the optical fibers of a multifiber tape, one pressure cutting part 12a is moved up and down under the guidance of a guide pin 17 with a switch 18 to flaw the jacket at two positions and strip it, and then ribbon fibers 1 are moved along a guide member 15 to separate the fibers.
