PURPOSE: To prepare a microporous polymer membrane having <28 dyne/cm critical wet surface tension by permanently and chemically bonding and forming a microporous membrane composed of a branched fluoropolymer on the whole surface of a membrane substrate. CONSTITUTION: The microporous polymer membrane having <28 dyne/cm critical wet surface tension is formed by polymerizing the polymerizable fluorine- containing monomers in the presence of the microporous polymer membrane substrate so as to form a polymer branch, in which the fluorine-containing monomer is permanently and chemically bonded to the whole surface of the membrane. The branched fluoropolymer is suitably synthesized by the polymerization of monomers containing an ethylenically unsaturated group and a fluoroalkyl group. As a polymer constituting the membrane substrate, polyamide, polyolefin, a fluorine-containing polymer or the like is suitably used. |
