PURPOSE:To obtain the subject abirritant, composed of a beta-D-glucopyranoside derivative, capable of relieving alcoholic irritant smell by addition thereof to an alcoholic beverage and imparting excellent feeling of aging and used for cosmetics, foods and drinks. CONSTITUTION:The objective abirritant composed of a beta-D-glucopyranoside derivative (e.g. beta-D-ethylglucoside or beta-D-5,5-dimethylhexylglucoside) expressed by the formula (R is 2-8C alkyl). The aforementioned abirritant in an amount of 0.1-30wt.% based on an alcoholic solution is preferably added thereto.
