BINDER RESIN FOR TONER AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain the binder resin for toners which is good for smell by specifying the content of aldehydes at the time of polymerizing a monomer compsn. CONSTITUTION:The content of the aldehydes in the binder resin for toners which is obtd. by polymerizing a polymerizable monomer contg. at lest <=50wt.% styrene monomer and a polymn. initiator is specified to <=0.01wt.%. The mono mer compsn. is subjected to suspension polymn. in an aq. medium having <=0.25mg/l dissolved oxygen quantity to form the styrene resin having <=0.01wt.% content of aldehyde monomers at the time of producing the binder resin for toners. The suspension polymerized resin which has no problems in smell is provided for toners in this way.
