Ventilation device to be installed on the upper part of the window of a closed hearth, characterised in that it consists essentially in making an air passage between the top of the window by reducing the height of the latter and the door frame (2). An improvement may be made by installing, astride on the top of the window (5), a deflector (4) or by transferring the principle, normally installed on the metallic part of the hearth, in order to allow a flow of air (6) to pass. <IMAGE>
