<p>PURPOSE:To surely form methane bacteria granules consisting of carriers as nuclei in the upper part of a fluidized bed of carriers and to attain the operation with a relatively large load from the beginning by adjusting the concn. of seed sludge and the rising linear flow velocity in a reaction chamber within a preset range and circulating the seed sludge. CONSTITUTION:The methane bacteria granules are formed near the upper boundary of the fluidized layer of the carriers in the process of circulating in upward current in the reaction chamber 1. Such formation arises because the rotational motion of the carriers 4 by microturbulence is generated near the upper boundary of the fluidized layer of the carriers and the methane bacteria in the circulating liquid are gradually taken as nuclei into the carriers by the rotating motion of the carriers. The methane bacteria granules are, therefore, surely formed in the upper part of the fluidized bed of the carriers by adjusting the concn. of the methane bacteria in the circulating liquid, i.e., the seed sludge concn. and the rising linear flow velocity in the reaction chamber. Thus, the operation of a fluidized bed type anaerobic water treatment device with the relatively large load from the beginning is possible.</p> |
