PURPOSE:To protect stored foodstuffs from dew droplets and sanitarily control the same by a method wherein dew droplets receiving plates made of metal and coated with a hydrophilic coating on their lower surfaces are drawable and slantingly disposed at the upper parts of storage chambers so as to be opposed to the top plates of boxes of good heat conductivity. CONSTITUTION:When cold air whose heat has been exchanged by an evaporator 22 is discharged into a cold air passage 8, air in an upper storage chamber 9 and a lower storage chamber 10 is indirectly cooled by the cold air via upper and lower boxes of good heat conductivity 6, 7. On the other hand, condensed dew droplets are formed on the inner surfaces of boxes of good heat conductivity 6, 7 by the external air infiltration because of the opening and closing of doors 2 and by the evaporation and dispersion of moisture contained in stored foodstuffs, and especially, condensed dew droplets dropped down from top plates 6A and 7A drop onto upper and lower dew droplet receiving plates 12, 13, respectively, and then drop onto the bottom plates of the boxes of good heat conductivity 6, 7 without wetting the stored foodstuffs on shelves 11. Thereupon, the condensed dew droplets finally pass through a lower drain pipe 17 to be discharged to the external side. Further, condensed dew droplets formed on the lower surfaces of the dew droplet receiving plates 12, 13 spread uniformly over the entire area of the lower surfaces of the dew droplet receiving plates 12, 13 without remaining as dew droplets due to the effect of a thin layer 15 formed by hydrophilic paint having water wetting properties and water retention properties, and moreover, are guided backward due to the effect of the inclined surfaces of the dew droplet receiving plates to be dropped onto the bottom plates through drain parts 12A, 13A. |
