Alignment pin for repositioning of assembly - has adhesive washer under head to secure pin in correct relative position of assembled parts

The alignment pin (13) passes through the two sheet metal parts (9) and (11) forming the assembly. In the case of car assembly for example the two parts will have been fastened by screw fasterners permitting some positional adjustment of one part relative to the other before the screws were tightened. The alignment pin passes through an oversize aperturee (27) in part (9) and into the fitting hole (31) in part (11). Under the head of the pin is an adhesive washer (39) which secures the pin when the head is pressed against the surface of part (9). Thus if the assembly is taken apart the correct relative position of the two parts is preserved by the alignment pin. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple method of ensuring accurate re-assembly.
