Folding connection between truck and trailer - with vertical displacement on cornering to clear edges of trailer

The flexible connection between truck and trailer is made using concertina shaped sections. This reduces turbulence and drag. The connection forms a tunnel and is supported between end frames (10,11). The outer sides are supported by scissors shaped struts (12,13) with vertical adjustment of the trailer (2) ended frame (10). The vertical adjustment is provided by having one end of each arm on a vertical movement. Vertical guides (28) on the rear of the trailer provide at least 200 mm lift, sufficient to clear the top corner of the trailer when cornering. The lift is linked to the steering action. USE/ADVANTAGE - Flexible connection between vehicle and trailer gives reduced drag, more fuel ecconomy, does not affect cornering.
