<p>The compartments (2) in the box (1) are formed so that they tightly enclose the batteries on all sides, but leave a part of them accessible from the top for insertion or removal purposes. Each compartment incorporates a temp. sensor (3), which can be located in a side wall or the base of the compartment. The sensor comes into direct contact with the exterior of a battery (4), so that it can indicate when the battery temp. rises as the result of being fully charged. The sensor is connected to a control unit which regulates or switches off the current from the charging unit to the battery. For increased safety, a further temp. sensor is fitted on the outside of the box to record ambient temp. It is also connected to the charging unit control.</p> |
