The harvester is esp. used for sugar beet. It incorporates a topping and/or lifting device (15,16) which is arranged on a separate carrying frame (14). A sliding guide (4) is provided between the frame (1) and the carrying frame (14), and a hydraulically actuated cylinder (17) is provided for the height adjustment. USE/ADVANTAGE - provides easier, more accurate and reliable height adjustment of the topping and/or lifting unit.
