摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of a memory by forcedly collating a road corner approximate to an azimuth sensor angle to the road when the road corner is only one, and there are two or more road corners to be collated, inhibiting forced collation. CONSTITUTION:A control unit 50 displays map data outputted from a control unit 40 on a liquid crystal display 10. An azimuth arithmetic means in the unit 50 computes a difference between an azimuth angle sensor angle detected by an azimuth sensor 30 and a road corner calculated by road data stored in a road data storage device. When there is only one data outputted from the azimuth computing means and smaller than a prescribed value, the 1st correcting means collates the current position with the road data. When there are plural data or there is no data, collation is not executed. When there are road data within the prescribed radius of the current position which is not precedently collated, the 2nd correcting means collates the current position with the road data closest to the current position. When there is no road data, the current position is not collated with the road data.
