PURPOSE:To effectively obtain the title compound useful as an intermediate for insecticides, etc., in high reaction rate by using a specific optically active titanium complex as a nucleophilic agent and reacting a carboxylic acid derivative with an alcohol compound. CONSTITUTION:An optically active titanium complex prepared from an optically active diol shown by formula I (* shows position asymmetric carbon atom) and a tetraalkoxytitanium shown by formula II (R' is lower alkyl group) is used as a nucleophilic agent and a carboxylic acid derivative shown by formula III (R is lower alkyl; Ar is aromatic group; Z is eliminable group) as a raw material is reacted with an alcohol compound shown by formula IV at-80 deg.C to 0 deg.C using preferably 5-10 equivalent of the compound shown by formula IV based on the carboxylic acid derivative shown by formula III to give a compound shown by formula V. The complex, for example, is prepared by adding approximately equimolar amounts of the compound shown by formula I and the compound shown by formula II to an inert solvent. The amount of the complex used is 0.05-0.15 equivalent based on the compound shown by formula III. |
