PURPOSE:To obtain a high speed while maintaining characteristics of high torque by regulating and fixing the position of an electric circuit for regenerating electric power via a short-circuiting semiconductor switching device to make a power drop slow and the position of a position-sensing element so that power is applied to maximize an output torque. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic poles 16a, 16b,... are equal in width to salient poles and arranged at equal pitches, and attract salient poles 1b, 1c to rotate when power is applied to exciting coils 17b, 17c. When the magnetic poles rotate 30 degrees, the power application to the exciting coil 17b is stopped and a torque by a salient pole 1d is generated. Excited two magnetic poles always have different polarities and leakage fluxes passing through non-excited magnetic poles are directed in directions opposite to each other to prevent the generation of a negative torque. Then, the fixed position of a position-sensing element is regulated and the power application to the exciting coils is started at the point where the salient pole begins to enter the magnetic pole. Thus, it is possible to obtain a high speed while maintaining characteristics of high torque. |
