<p>PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of program searching by taking time data as a time base and always measuring the distance of a tape travel with the aid of the conversion of a prescribed tape traveling speed. CONSTITUTION:The first and second reels 3 and 4 where the tape 2 is wound, a reproducing head 5 which reads a signal recorded on the tape 2, a driving mechanism which drives the reels 3 and 4 or the like are provided in a tape unit 1. Then, the rotating speed ratio of the first and second reels 3 and 4 is calculated and the time data DELTAt corresponding to the speed ratio is read out from a memory 23. Besides, the read-out time data DELTAt is accumulated and the traveling distance of the tape 2 is detected based on the accumulated value. Thus, the change of the speed of the tape 2 caused by the difference between the states that the tape is wound by the reels 3 and 4 is compensated. As the result, the precise music selection and program searching which is not affected by the change of the speed of the tape is realized.</p> |
