<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the processing time considerably by making the connection pattern between input and output terminals of all unit switches identical belonging to a prescribed stage number of a Benes network in response to the degree of parallel expansion or multiplexing of input and output signals so as to set the path. CONSTITUTION:The routing processing corresponding to plural line speeds is implemented because the speed conversion of a high speed input signal is applied at input terminals of a Benes network with a parallel expansion means and the speed conversion of a high speed output signal is applied at output terminals of a Benes network with a multiplexing means. Moreover, the routing setting making the connection pattern between input and output terminals of all unit switches in existence from the 1st stage to the m-th stage and from the final stage to the m-th stage of the Benes network identical is implemented in response to the degree of parallel expansion or multiplexing of input and output signals in order to make the speed of input and output liens coincident with the speed of the internal link of the Benes network. Thus, number of computing steps due to simplified reallocation calculation algorithm is saved and the processing time is remarkably reduced.</p> |
