PURPOSE:To prevent a crewman from being harmed by a passenger sittin in the rear seat of a taxicab, by elevatingably disposing, in the back of a front seat, a shield member having an upper end arranged to reach the ceiling of a vehicle compartment when the shield member is moved upward. CONSTITUTION:A shield member 3 is disposed in the rear part of the back 2 of a bench type front seat 1. The shield member 3 is made of highly impact-proof and transparent material, and is slidably engaged in slide grooves formed in supporting frames 4 which are attached to frames 6 at both side ends of the back of the front seat by brackets 5. The shield member 3 is elevated by an elevating mechanism so that the upper end of the shield member 3 reaches to the ceiling of a vehicle compartment when the shield member 3 is moved upward. Further, the shield member 3 is completely stored within the back of the front seat when the shield member 3 is moved downward. |
