PURPOSE:To measure the surface temperature of a material from the electromotive force between two parts accurately, by forming at least the surface of the material whose surface temperature is to be measured by a raw material having excellent thermal electromotive force characteristics, and contacting a probe, which comprises a raw material that forms a thermcouple with the material to be measured, to said surface of the material to be measured. CONSTITUTION:The pipe of a heat exchanger of a boiler is made of carbon steel or low alloy steel, and a copper pipe is used as a model or the copper is evaporated. The copper wire is used as a lead wire and taken out of the pipe surface. Meanwhile, a thin, rod shaped probe made of Constantan is guided to the outside of the boiler and connected with the copper lead wire. When the Constantan probe is pushed to the copper part of the pipe surface, the thermocople is formed between the copper and the Constantan. Since the electromotive force is generated by the temperature difference between the pipe surface and the room temperature outside the boiler, the temperature of the pipe surface is measured by measuring said electromotive force. |
