Opening and closing device for a blow or stretch-blow mould of the jackknife type which can be used for the manufacture of plastic containers, this mould including two half-shells (5) joined to each other by a mutual pivoting pin (6), which comprises a ram (12) which can move in a to-and-fro motion along a direction (22) perpendicular to the pin (6) and intersecting this pin; cam means (13, 14) associated with the ram (12) in order to bring about this to-and-fro motion in a pre-established sequence; and two actuation arms (19) rotationally connected, at their respective ends, to the ram (12) and respectively to the half-shells (5) at points (21) of the latter which are located on either side of the aforementioned direction of movement of the ram and are some distance away from the mutual pivot pin (6). <IMAGE>
