PURPOSE:To obtain a composition capable of stably preserving enteric useful bacteria readily exterminated in the air for a long period by dispersing enteric useful bacteria or powder carrying the aforementioned bacterial in a liquid hydrocarbon. CONSTITUTION:Living enteric useful bacterial such as Lactobacillus bifidus or lactobacillus, are converted into dried powder by lyophilizing or other well- known methods or powder prepared by supporting the aforementioned dried powder on a viable bacteria protecting substance, such as skin milk powder, protein or starch, is blended with a liquid hydrocarbon, such as squalene, squalane, liquid paraffin and a mixture thereof. The resultant blend is then mixed and stirred so as to homogeneously disperse the bacteria in the liquid. The content of the liquid hydrocarbon in the composition is preferably about >=25wt.%. |
