The subject of the invention is a device for continuously casting thin metal products, of the type including a rotating solidification roll (7) and a distributor (4) containing the liquid metal to be cast (2) and equipped with a snout (5) bringing the liquid metal onto the cooled lateral surface (6) of the said roll, a clearance e being provided between the said surface and the end of the said snout, characterised in that it comprises means for measuring (9) the radial expansion of the said roll, such as a displacement sensor or an optical device, and means for displacement (12) of the distributor automatically controlled by the measurement means, so as to regulate the value of the said clearance. The invention applies particularly to the continuous casting of steel. <IMAGE>
