PURPOSE:To stabilize noble metals by direct action and to obtain a heat resistant catalyst by supporting Pd salt on an inorg. catalyst carrier and dipping the carrier in a mixed aq. soln. contg. Rh salt, Ru salt and citric acid. CONSTITUTION:An inorg. carrier such as cordierite is dipped in an aq. Pd salt soln., dried and dipped in a mixed aq. soln. contg. Rh salt, Ru salt and/or Ir salt and citric acid. The carrier is then dried, calcined at about 200-500 deg.C for 1-5hr in the air and reduced at about 300-800 deg.C for 1-5hr in an atmosphere of gaseous hydrogen. Pd is combined with Rh, this Rh is formed as a solid soln. in Ru and/or Ir and a catalyst inhibiting grain growth and having high performance and durability is obtd. |
