The invention relates to an option which can be combined with a measurement apparatus, which option gives it the ability of being able, using a computer and by extrapolation of measurements already made, to provide an estimation of the measurement which it will make at a subsequent defined instant. This option consists of an analog or digital computer which will determine, from the last measurements made, first the value of the parameters of the equation governing the development of this measurement during time, and will then determine by calculation the value which this equation will take when the time parameter is equal to that of the desired prediction. This option according to the invention is intended for pure prediction, for prediction with a view to modification during progression of the phenomenon measured, for detection of operational anomalies, and for regulation. <IMAGE>
