The arrangement contains a playback unit for compact optical discs or CDs, a VDU and a keyboard for addressing the map system. The CD (3) can be moved in steps and contains a number of detailed maps. The CD player, LCD screen and keyboard (6,13) are arranged in a common housing (1) mounted on a flexible rod-shaped carrier (5) in a vehicle. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for storing and reproducing digitised street maps, town plans, etc. in motor vehicles. Reliable operation and can handle maps of different scales.
