PURPOSE:To obtain in a short time a high-density sintered compact of oxide magnetic material with excellent in magnetic properties etc., by packing a mold with fine oxide powder giving a single phase followed by pressure molding and electric discharge-energization sintering simultaneously while developing powder-powder discharge by voltage application. CONSTITUTION:(A) A sintering mold made by combining a cell 10 made of carbon or silicon carbide with a pair of electrodes 12 with a function of pressing punch is packed with (B) oxide magnetic powder 14 (e.g. Mn-Zn-based ferrite powder, Ni-Zn-based ferrite powder) <=3mum in average size, giving nearly a single phase. Thence, voltage is applied using a sintering unit 18 followed by pressing through a pressing mechanism 16 while developing powder-powder electric discharge to nearly simultaneously carrying out pressure molding and electric discharge-energization sintering, thus obtaining the objective high-density sintered compact of oxide magnetic material in high efficiency. |
