The present invention relates to replication-defective recombinant retroviruses for therapeutic use. In particular, it relates to use of replication-defective recombinant retroviruses carrying a vector construct which directs the expression of a palliative in cells infected with the retrovirus, the palliative being capable of inhibiting the function of a pathogenic agent.
