<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible to increase an image recording speed by a recording unit when a direct-writing recording is indicated to a recording medium by a method wherein a direct-writing recording by a recording unit is indicated, and an image recording speed is increased higher than the time of transfer recording by a transfer material. CONSTITUTION:When a recording to a heat-sensitive paper is indicated for the printing method, a carriage table 35 is let down so that a carriage 14, in which a cassette is not loaded, comes to a position which confronts with a thermal head 117. When the carriage 14 in which an ink ribbon cassette is not loaded is selected in this manner, a control signal is output to a motor driver 115 so that the moving speed of the carriage 14 becomes 'A'. Then, the thermal head 117 is let down, and a recording process to a heat-sensitive paper is executed. The relationship between the moving speed 'A' of the carriage 14 to the time of recording to heat-sensitive paper and a moving speed 'B' of the carriage 14 at the time of thermal transfer recording is A>B, and the recording time for recording to heat-sensitive paper is shortened than the time of recording by thermal transfer.</p> |
