A bioreactor produces gas in drinks by fermentation without clouding with materials such as yeasts or microorganisms. The active materials are enclosed in a single or multi-layer porous filter material. Embedding the microorganisms between porous filters prevents cavity formation, pressure build-up and obstruction to diffusion. One or more layers of a porous fabric are spirally wound with the filter layers to produce a bioreactor with a central hole through which nutrients can easily reach the microorganisms. USE/ADVANTAGE - Creates carbon dioxide in sparkling drinks without the appearance of cloudiness. Diffusion is unhindered and uncontrollable pressure build-up is avoided.
