MANUFACTURE OF HYDROGEN STORAGE ALLOY ELECTRODE

PURPOSE:To increase hydrogen storage capability by forming a hydrogen storage alloy by alloying raw materials and removing oxides on the hydrogen storage alloy with a substance having reduction capability. CONSTITUTION:A hydrogen storage alloy is formed by alloying raw materials. Oxides on the hydrogen storage alloy are removed with a substance having reduction capability. When carbon disulfide is used as the reducing substance, carbon in the carbon disulfide has positive potential by inductive effect of two sulfurs of covalent bond and reacts with oxygen on the surface of the alloy and carbon monosulfide-monoxide and sulfur are deposited. Oxygen on the hydrogen storage alloy can be removed. The hydrogen storage alloy is activated and its hydrogen storage capability is increased.
