PURPOSE:To reduce the manufacture cost and to facilitate the handling of the polygon mirror so that a mirror end part is not damaged by forming an area whose plane accuracy different from a mirror part is obtained at a mirror end part. CONSTITUTION:An unpolished part 3 which has the low plane accuracy different from the mirror part 2 is provided between adjacent mirror parts 2 within a constant range. The mirror parts 2 are polished in the manufacture process of the polygon mirror 1 and this part 3 between the mirror parts is chamfered to form the unpolished part. Consequently, sharp end part working is not necessary. This causes not only reducing the manufacture cost, but also easy handing the polygon mirror 1 by utilizing the part 3 where the plane accuracy is low. |
