PURPOSE:To manage the version of each terminal equipment without fail by transmitting a response to an arrived command while including self-version information each time on a terminal side to a host computer and on the other hand, executing the version management based on these version information on the host computer side. CONSTITUTION:On the side of respective terminal equipments 2 and 3, when any command arrives from the side of a host computer 1, the response to this command is transmitted to the host computer 1 while including the self-version information each time, and on the other hand, on the side of the host computer 1, the version management of the respective peripheral terminal equipments 2 and 3 is executed based on the version information which are sent from the respective peripheral terminal equipments 2 and 3 while being included in this response. Accordingly, on the side of the host computer 1, the version information of the respective terminal equipments 2 and 3 can be securely collected and managed without being conscious of the inquiry of the version information. Thus, the version of each terminal equipment can be always exactly managed without increasing load on the host computer side.
