Removing water from suspended solids using a screw-conveyor

Sepn. and dewatering of solids is claimed which are intermingled with fibres e.g. animal hair or plant fibres and present at a concn. of less than 10% in waste water from animal compounds or industrial processes. The waste water is introduced into a pressure conveyor separator which is motor driven and extends into a sieve basket, the solid material is formed into a solid shaped object almost free of water and removed from the separator. The sliding contact of the solid material object with the wall of the sieve basket parallel to the feed direction assists in the removal of water.
