Fuel is expelled from the outlet (3) of the tank (1) by a pump (2) which draws fuel into the underlying induction chamber (7) at the base of the cylinder (6). The piston (11) of the slide valve (15) is movable within the cylinder (6) by a float (12). Fuel from the tank (1) can flow only through an inlet (9) into the cylinder (6). Fuel from the induction chamber (7) can flow only through an inlet (10) at a lower level, according to the position of the float. ADVANTAGE - Valve operates with min. position sensitivity, and opens and closes reliably in all conditions.
