PRODUCTION OF SUPERCONDUCTOR

PURPOSE:To obtain a superconductor having excellent superconducting characteristics by simple process and a mere device by bringing a mixed melt of superconducting composition and alkali halide into contact with a substrate and precipitating superconducting ceramics on the surface of the substrate to form a thin film. CONSTITUTION:A mixed melt of a superconducting composition soluble in a melt of an alkali halide comprising preferably Bi base or Tl base and the alkali halide. The alkali halide is one or more of KCl, LiCl and NaCl. Then, the mixed melt is brought into contact with a substrate and annealed to precipitate a superconducting ceramics such as BiSrCaCu2Ox and a thin film comprising the ceramics is formed. The molar ratio of the alkali halide is preferably 10-400 based on the superconducting composition. The annealing ratio is preferably 0.5-1 deg.C/second.
