Two paraboloidal sections (2, 3) share a common focus (4) on the optical axis (1) from which all rays are reflected at the paraboloidal surfaces and refracted by an annulus (11), to emerge as a parallel beam between outer and inner boundary rays (7, 8; 9, 10). The axes of the paraboloids (2, 3) are inclined equally and oppositely to the optical axis (1). The centre of the annulus (11) is filled with a Fresnel lens (12) converting direct light from the focus (4) into a parallel beam. USE/ADVANTAGE - For brake warning lamps or other rear lamps. Homogeneous emission is achieved from significantly smaller structure.
